What's in the name :-P
What does it mean?’ Is the first question I ask the person after knowing his name. I have always had this thing about names…Ira, Rugved, Indu, Shubhra, Nabha, Rudra and list goes on forever these are one of my favourites. There were times I got attracted to a person just with his name (crazy I know :-p) But I believe name adds value to one’s personality. ( I am not sure with the nicknames though) For me, name is also something which reminds us of our identity. When we are doing something unusual or when we are wrapped up in our thoughts or sometimes just going through old pictures or get lost in the crowd…at such times when we hear someone call us by our name we get back. We get back to reality. It acts as a mediater or thread which connects us to our existing self. I always liked to be called by my name. Some people have their personality attached to their names, I guess that’s what makes our head turn or heart skip a beat after hearing the mention of certain names. I would suggest you to not to get confused with the meaning of the name and it’s value. For me these are two different things. At times like these, I wish I could have discussion over a coffee with V.P.Kale, Robert Frost and William Shakespeare. I wonder what their opinion is on naming convention as well.
