Small Achievements : Hope
Earlier when people used to ask me to be positive and try to motivate me, I used to slam pessimism on their face. Somebody asking me to be happy or imposing toxic positivity used to piss me off. Why are you pretending to be sorted just to have a feeling of superiority in your subconscious. But yesterday my middle age coworkers were discussing about traffic, politics, their debts, kids and the long list of problems as casually as another. And at last he said,' koi nai yarr! Umeed pe hi toh duniya kayam hai' (The world is living on hope). For the first time in the long time I wasn't annoyed by hopeful statement. Instead it put a smile on my face. When people who are struggling with their lives say this casually you know they mean it.You see being a hard core pessimist and believing that life is meaningless, one would have opposed to that. According to me the very own idea of hope and belief is rooted in people's actions. And not limiting them to every-morning WhatsApp status. My personal achievement was getting a clearance on my feelings towards hope. And since we are talking about hope how can I not quote from 'Shawshank-Redemption', now that I have stopped disagreeing with it even I believe...
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things.
