Growth & TøP
Far most the best comment I have ever come across on Reddit. Even though it contradicts my opinion, it opened my mind a little bit. I have been listening to TøP since 6 years. And as mentioned in the post, I have been cribbing about their recent album 'Scaled and Icy' didn't turn out to be how I expected. As I commented about the same, this person gave me a new perspective, and it makes so much sense! Your art grows with you and maybe that's how it should be. There might be some scholars argue about the fact that you shouldn't let your personal life get mixed with your professional life. Which also makes sense but does that apply to artists ? Isn't the whole point of art to express yourself? (I don't know why that comment got deleted ) The second aspect of me not cropping my comment in the post is to accept that I had a different opinion back then. This is something I have learnt in last 2-3 years. It's ok to change your opinion over the period of time once you get introduced to a different perspective or gain some more knowledge on that topic. You don't have to explain it to anyone or feel embarrassed for your past opinions & thoughts. It's a journey and as long as you are learning something, correcting the mistakes, it's a sign of being alive. In retrospection, I went through my previous artworks and tried to analyse if the same applies to me. Whether my work has been a reflection of my mental state and surroundings. Let me know if this applies to you too. So far, my most favourite album by TøP is RAB and Blurryface.
